Service With Love
Meals on Wheels of Brighton is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a hot, well-balanced noon-time meal to anyone, regardless of age, in the Brighton area. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday.
Who is Elegible for Meals on Wheels? Meals are available to anyone in the Brighton area needing this service. Examples of those in need may be the elderly person who is unable to shop or prepare meals for themselves, the chronically ill or handicapped or persons temporarily indisposed following illness, surgery, or accidents.
What about Cost? The cost is $3.75 per meal, payable at the end of the month. If persons in the program are in need and simply cannot afford the $3.75, adjustments to the cost will be made. In many cases, arrangements and payment for meals are made by children concerned about their parents' nutritional needs. The program is funded in part by client contributions, private donations, fundraising efforts, and the City of Brighton.
Where do the Meals Come From? We partner with Inglenook at Brighton, a local assisted-living facility, to provide nutritious meals for clients. They are able to accomodate regular, diabetic and low-sodium needs.
